16 bold predictions for the 2013 Cleveland Indians

Last week, 16 Cleveland Indians writers representing six different publications participated in a multi-part preseason survey in which we made predictions and offered our opinions about the 2013 Tribe. We released part of the results each day this week as we count down the days until the start of the season. Today, we finish our series by asking each panelist to make a bold prediction or two about the 2013 Indians. (more…)

Why Terry Francona’s aggressive 3-0 approach is a mistake

For all the talk we’ve heard about Terry Francona over the last few months, it’s easy to forget that he has yet to actually manage a non-exhibition game in Cleveland. He’s been a very visible figure this offseason and he’s clearly made his mark on the Indians’ clubhouse already, but for all the talk of his strategic genius we have yet to actually see him in action with the Tribe. Ezequiel Carrera, David Huff could be valuable trade chips

On Monday, the Cleveland Indians finalized their Opening Day roster. There weren’t any real surprises among the final selections—an attentive fan probably could have filled in all the blanks based on spring numbers and Terry Francona‘s quotes over the last few days—but two of the players who failed to make the cut are particularly significant: Ezequiel Carrera and David Huff.
